TaktX · AI-enhanced engineering · the Netherlands

Reliable software, built the practical way.

TaktX is Eric Hendriks' company. We build an open-source process engine, benchmark speech recognition on small hardware, and are working on a voice companion for the home. Alongside that, we consult on IT projects for Dutch organisations.

Portfolio

Open-source infrastructure, independent measurement and products for the home. Different in shape, the same in approach: build what is missing, without needless complexity.

TaktX Flow

A BPMN process engine that runs entirely on Kafka. No database, no central bottleneck: scales per partition and handles tens of thousands of process instances per second on ordinary hardware.

About Eric

Eric Hendriks has been building software that has to keep working since 1995. He started with embedded systems at Ericsson and Vitatron, moved on to architecture and Java development for defence and NATO, and has spent the last fifteen years on distributed backend systems at, among others, Dutch Railways, the Chamber of Commerce, the Dutch Police, Google and Rabobank.

His approach is practical and grounded: understand what an organisation really needs, pick the simplest architecture that can carry it, then build it well. In recent years that also means working with AI agents for design, build, test and review — not as an experiment, but as the everyday way of working.

Since 2025, TaktX is where his own products and consulting come together. Eric occasionally writes about his work on Medium.
